Dr. Mark Horacek, the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, has been a prominent figure at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions for several years. In his role as the chief academic officer of the university, Dr. Horacek oversees all academic and related functional areas of the university.
Dr. Horacek began and completed all of his professional degrees from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, and completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in Physiology and Reproduction at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine.
With over 30 years of graduate education experience, Dr. Horacek has received teaching awards, obtained NIH grant funding, mentored graduate students, and managed a wide variety of clinical entities including in- and out-patient physical therapy departments.
Dr. Horacek has progressed through all ranks of the professoriate. He was the founding Chair of several DPT programs, a Campus Director, an Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, an Interim Provost, and is now the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost. He has served on virtually all academic committees and is a licensed Physical Therapist. Dr. Horacek has extensive experience in specialty accreditation, strategic planning, program and curriculum design, and leadership.
