The Doctor of Nursing Practice degree/Family Nurse Practitioner (DNP/FNP) program at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions (RMUoHP) is an eight-semester primarily-online program designed to allow students to continue to work as registered nurses in their communities while completing their doctoral degree program and FNP specialty coursework.
The RMUoHP DNP/FNP degree program is designed to prepare nurse practitioners to deliver primary healthcare to families in a variety of settings. DNP/FNP students follow patients through the life cycle learning obstetric, pediatric, and gynecologic, as well as adult and geriatric primary care diagnostic and management skills. Successful graduates of our program are eligible to obtain licensure and certification as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN).

Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree/Family Nurse Practitioner program (Post-Bachelors)
The post-baccalaureate Doctor of Nursing Practice degree/Family Nurse Practitioner program at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions is a rigorous program for those interested in advanced clinical practices and leadership roles. It was specifically designed with 90-credits for students interested in entering the nurse practitioner field.
The program enjoys a 92% retention to degree rate. While in the program, students follow and treat patients in a wide variety of settings found within the life cycle, ranging from geriatric to gynecologic care and management skills, as a licensed nurse practitioner.
Our post-bachelor’s DNP/FNP program currently has a first-time pass rate of 87% and a final pass rate of 100% – every graduate of our DNP/FNP program has passed the Family Nurse Practitioner certification exam, administered by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). This certification shares common links to the national Consensus Model for APRN Regulation including licensure, accreditation, certification, and education.
