Dr. Sandra Shigetomi-Toyama is the program director of the SLPD program at Rocky
Mountain University of Health Professions. She has over 15 years of clinical
experience in her private practice in Orange County, California. Previously, she
participated on a cleft palate team and a multidisciplinary early intervention
assessment team.
Dr. Shigetomi-Toyama has been with RMU since 2016, first as a teacher’s
assistant, then as an instructor for the capstone courses. In 2018, she was the Capstone
Coordinator before becoming the Program Director in 2021. She earned a Bachelor of
Science and a Master of Science in Communicative Disorders at the California State
University, Northridge. In 2016, she earned a Doctor of Clinical Science in Speech
and Language Pathology at RMU in Provo, Utah.
