The Scholarship:

  • Scholarship will be awarded to new students starting the post professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy program in May of 2017.
  • $1,500 scholarship
  • Scholarship funds will be disbursed, in the form of a check, in two installments during the student’s first and second semester of attendance.

Dates and Deadlines:

  • April 17, 2017 – Scholarship deadline
  • May 8, 2017 – OTD program starts

The Essay:

Submit a single essay (typed, double-spaced), not to exceed 2,500 words, addressing the following:

How you envision utilizing the education received at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions to …

    1. Advance knowledge, considering the next generation of Occupational Therapy leaders and educators
    2. Advance healthcare, by applying your education toward improvements in patient care

Letter of recommendation/support:

Provide a letter of recommendation supporting your application of this scholarship.  Please note that this is a separate letter of recommendation from the letter included in the admissions application process.

All materials submitted in the admissions process may be used in the selection process of this scholarship. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Criteria:

The OTD Advancing Knowledge Scholarship will be awarded to the student(s) that best meets the following criteria:

  • Displays a continuous goal of advancing his/her knowledge in health professions
  • Displays a continuous goal of advancing the knowledge of others in his/her health profession
  • Sound academic record
  • Service to his/her health profession and community

Scholarship Requirements:

  • Student, or prospective student, must apply for admissions for a May 2017 program start.
  • Complete and submit all aspects of the scholarship application before 11:00 p.m. MDT on April 17, 2017.
  • Commit to start program in May 2017.
  • Recipient must maintain a 3.0 GPA each semester of attendance in the OTD program and remain continuously enrolled as a full-time student.
