RMUoHP Offers Healthcare Professions Education Certificate

There are over 3,500 healthcare education programs in athletic training, nursing, physician assistant, physical therapy, physical therapy assistant, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology, along with a host of others in radiology, dentistry, podiatry, optometry and others. All of these programs are in need of faculty and instructors who are not only trained and experienced in their profession but more importantly, trained and prepared as a healthcare educator to provide learner-centered experiences through various modalities including online, blended and face to face.

Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions is experienced in preparing educators to teach in healthcare professions education programs through our healthcare professions education certificate which is totally online and easily completed in three to four semesters. All courses are three academic credit hours and are purposefully designed based upon the best practices in the scholarship of teaching and learning.

Students in this program are from across the country with a wide variety of healthcare practices which truly provides an inter-professional education experience for collaborative discussion supported by rich experiences, current resources, and evidence-based literature.

Our faculty have a wealth of experience in preparing healthcare educators and model best practices through course design, student learning assessment, learning techniques, forum discussions, and high-quality prompt feedback to support the very best training of the healthcare educator. We prepare “designers of learning” who teach in healthcare professions.

I have been preparing young professionals for adjunct, part-time, full-time instructor, and faculty positions for the past 20 years. I love designing learning experiences and being a member of an online/blended learning community where I create and facilitate an engaging learning experience, supporting the advancing of knowledge and advancing of healthcare.

If you are considering an instructor position, or are already in a position and need additional training, I do hope you will consider our healthcare professions education certificate program.
