The American Physical Therapy Association hosted its annual Combined Sections Meeting (CSM), where over 18,000 physical therapists and other healthcare professionals gathered to learn, share research, network, and find resources. Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions (RMUoHP) was well represented with hosting a booth for prospective students and an evening reception for alumni, students, and faculty.
RMUoHP students, alumni, and faculty were featured throughout the conference. Many presented posters, led panel and platform presentations, and taught educational sessions. In fact, over 30 unique presentations were from RMUoHP graduates and current students. As part of an effort to recognize professional accomplishments, the Alumni Relations Office compiled a list of some of the university-related presentations, which showcases the expanse of knowledge and research of our graduates and students.
Aside from presentations, many graduates received special acknowledgments. RMUoHP tDPT and PhD-Pediatrics graduate Magdalena Oledzka received an award for the best pediatric dissertation at the Pediatric Academy Business Meeting. In addition, PhD-Pediatrics graduate and tDPT faculty Jan McElroy was elected as the new Director of Practice for the APTA Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy. She joins PhD-Pediatrics graduates Cindy Miles who serves as president and Laurie Glumas who serves as secretary.
On Thursday evening the alumni staff hosted a reception for all RMUoHP alumni, students, and faculty, as well as a few prospective students attending CSM or living in the Denver area. Over 100 attendees enjoyed networking with other physical therapists and reconnecting with cohort members and classmates.
