Jennifer Austin - RMUoHP Faculty

    Dr. Austin is currently the Program Director of the Ph.D. in Health Sciences program and an Associate Professor at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in Provo, Utah. She received her PhD from Ohio University in Higher Education, and a master’s in physical education with a specialization in Athletic Training. Dr. Austin serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Sports Rehabilitation and the Athletic Training Education Journal. She has chaired numerous professional accreditation committees, serves as a CAATE site visitor, and was recently a member of the Association for Athletic Training Educational Pathways and Recruitment workgroup. In addition to being a certified athletic trainer, Dr. Austin holds the following certifications: in “Myofascial Cupping Practitioner,” “Selective Functional Movement Assessment,” “Graston Technique Therapist Specialist and Provider,” and “Sport Safety International – Sport Safety Specialist.” Her research interest includes program and learning outcomes and assessment, incorporating evidence-based
    practice into athletic training education, and the use of therapeutic interventions, particularly cupping therapy and instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization.
