FAQs

Is this program completely online? Are visits to the campus required?

The SLPD program has two models. While the limited residency model does require three onsite visits, the other model (online-only) requires no onsite visits.

The limited residency model is primarily online, with 3 onsite visits across the 7 semesters of the program. These onsite visits each range in time from 3 to 6 days.

Do I have to take the GRE?

No! The GRE is not required.

I recently graduated with my SLP master's degree. Am I eligible for this program.

Yes; however, you must complete your CCC’s prior to graduation from our SLPD program. The program prefers you have a minimum of a year of experience, but the program can accept recently graduated SLPs.

Is there a minimum GPA requirement?

The minimum GPA requirement is a 3.2; however, if your GPA is close to this and you are seriously interested in our program, we still suggest that you complete an application for admission.

How many people do you accept into the program?

We accept around 20-30 people in each cohort. The size depends on the number of qualified applications we receive. There are more applications to the program than there are available spots, so make sure you create a competitive application.

Is this program accredited?

Because this program is a post-professional program and does not lead to licensure, it does not require specialty accreditation. However, our SLPD program is recognized by ASHA under their list of SLPD programs. Our university is also regionally accredited, the highest level of accreditation in the USA.

How much time will this program take me each week?

Students report spending an average of 15-20 hours per week dedicated toward their coursework.
