FAQ

RMU enjoys clinical partnerships with hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and orthopedic and specialty clinics across the country. Most clinical internships are in the western United States, but others may occur across all areas of the country.

Ultimately, all clinical sites are assigned, but student input and their desired locations and settings are strongly considered. The clinical education team is dedicated to making the clinical education experience valuable and memorable.

We accept 100 students per year. Generally, they are split 50/50 across our two start dates in May and September.

No, no accredited PT schools have an Early Decision option.  PTCAS did away with the early decision program in 2020.

Yes, we do. As applications are received, they are processed, and qualified applicants are scheduled for an interview.  Potential students do not have to wait for the final application deadline to learn their acceptance status.

The earlier an application is submitted, the earlier it is reviewed. However, remember that a well-rounded and complete application is always preferred over a rushed one.

No. On the PTCAS application, an applicant may indicate if they are applying for the May, September, or both cohorts. Applying to both cohorts does not increase a person’s chance of acceptance but rather indicates to the program that they are able to start at either time.

Prerequisites can be taken at any institution of higher education, including online. The program must review all AP courses to determine if they are acceptable.

No. The PTCAS application is our only requirement.

The GRE is not required, but if an applicant includes their GREs in the PTCAS application, we will accept the highest score of each section, even if scores are achieved on different GRE exams. Applicants can always update their application through PTCAS, but they should notify the institution of the update.

We no longer require the GRE. Including GRE scores in the application is optional. A cumulative and prerequisite GPA above 3.0 is preferred, but a minimum GPA requirement can be met in any one of the following 3 ways:

  • Cumulative GPA > 3.0
  • Pre-requisite GPA > 3.00
  • Last 30 semester hours GPA  > 3.00

Yes. Letters of recommendation and up to 3 prerequisites can be pending when an application is submitted. Any prerequisites pending at the time of application must be completed by the program start date. An applicant must submit the updated transcripts once the courses in question are complete. Letters of recommendation will be added to an application as they are submitted to the PTCAS system.

Providing GRE scores is optional, but if an applicant desires to include them in the application, they can use the code 0377.
