Dr. Amber Collins joined Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions after more than 13 years of service as a pre-health advisor and career counselor at two other local universities. She earned a Master’s of Education in School Counseling from UNC-Chapel Hill and completed her PhD in Health Science with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration and Leadership from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. As a faculty member, Dr. Collins’ background in counseling, advising, and career development directs her practical approach to teaching professional development courses in the PA program. She especially enjoys coaching students on creating powerful CVs, networking strategies, and personal branding. As the Director of Clinical Education for the PA program, Dr. Collins is driven to guide proactive and innovative solutions to the challenges of clinical education. It is her goal to provide exceptional educational experiences for students and seamless interactions with community partners. In an effort to find new and practical solutions to the barriers facing clinical educators across the nation, Dr. Collins’ research interests include clinical rotation shortages, preceptor trends, and workforce issues.
