Bartley Rust

Dr. Rust has practiced medicine as a PA since 2001. He received his Doctor of Health Science degree from Nova Southeastern University. His clinical experience includes internal medicine, family medicine, and urgent care. He has also provided health services for military personnel and veterans since 2006. He continues to practice as a PA providing disability exams for veterans. He has also served as a volunteer at free clinics for the medically underserved since 1998.

Dr. Rust first became involved in PA education in 2006. Prior to rejoining Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, he served as Director of Doctoral Education for the first six cohorts of Doctor of Medical Science students at the University of Lynchburg. Prior to focusing his career on doctoral education for PAs, Dr. Rust served as Director of Didactic Education for the PA program at A.T. Still University and then as Associate Program Director and Director of Simulation Education for the PA program at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions.

Dr. Rust has been actively involved in scholarly activity. He has served on item writing committees and workgroups for the Physician Assistant Education Association PACKRAT and End of Rotation exams since 2012. He also currently serves on the review board for The Internet Journal of Allied Health Sciences and Practice.

In his free time, Dr. Rust enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, and spending time with his wife and four daughters.
