Dr. Douglas Santillo received a Bachelor of Science degree in Quantitative Economics from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2001, and he subsequently served in the Navy for 20 years, first as a submarine officer and then as a physical therapist. He has worked and led several outpatient orthopedic settings and has experience overseeing pharmacy, radiology, laboratory, and physical therapy clinics as a department head.
He received his PhD in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Utah with a focus on lumbar spine pathophysiology and treatment. In addition to serving as a faculty member in the RMU physical therapy program, he maintains a private, cash-based physical therapy practice in Salt Lake City, specializing in spine pathologies.
He loves to play pickleball and spend time outside with his wife and two children.
