Kaiwi Chung-Hoon is a Professor and Director of Research in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education-Sportsmedicine from Brigham Young University, a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of the Pacific, and a PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences from the University of Utah.
He continues to practice as a physical therapist, and has worked in a variety of clinical settings including outpatient orthopedics, private practice, acute care, home health and various administrative positions. He was a faculty member and program director for the PTA program at Provo College.
Prior to this, he was a clinical instructor and clinical faculty member in the physical therapy program at the University of the Pacific.
He currently serves his profession as a member of the Abstract Review Committee for the Academy on Research for the American Physical Therapy Association. He has also served on the abstract review committees for the Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy and the Academy of Sports Physical Therapy. He also served as the Vice President for the Utah Physical Therapy Association and a member of the Executive Board. Additionally, he served as the Treasurer and executive committee member for the Northeast District of the California Physical Therapy Association.
His research interests include the control of lower extremity muscle contractions in young and old adults, aging of the neuromuscular system, improving neuromuscular function, and mobility function in young and old adults.
