Janet Noles

Dr. Janet Noles received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas in Austin and worked as a registered nurse in intensive and cardiac care units for 10 years. She then earned her Master of Science degree in Nursing at Texas Woman’s University in Dallas. The opportunity to advance skills led to her completion of the Family Nurse Practitioner certificate program at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Lubbock. Dr. Noles leadership skills led her to numerous positions, and upon completion of her Doctor of Philosophy degree at University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, she was selected as Dean of the only nursing school in the country that was owned and operated by three private church owned universities. As Dean, she was selected for the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Leadership Academy.

Dr. Noles has presented scholarly works at local, regional, state, national and international venues and directed the International Nursing Symposium in Limuru, Kenya for missionary nurses throughout the world. She has served as a Team Leader for accreditation site visits for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education for 15 years and is currently serving on the Substantive Change Review Committee for the Commission. Dr. Noles has been active in the Texas Nurse Practitioners as a regional representative and Board Member. She most recently served as President of the Texas Nurse Practitioner Foundation Board leading efforts to provide scholarship funds for nurse practitioner students in Texas. Dr. Noles was selected as a Fellow in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in 2008.

Dr. Noles has 27 years experience as a family nurse practitioner in ambulatory care, family planning, pain management, gastroenterology and rural health with 40 years experience as a nurse educator and administrator.
