One of the founding faculty members of the Physician Assistant program at RMU, Dr. Jon Baird joined the faculty in 2015. He specializes in teaching primary care medicine across the lifespan. Additionally, he is passionate about sports medicine & non-operative orthopedics, exercise science, diabetes management, ethics, professionalism, and medical wellness and weight loss. His academic background and experience include: A Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) with an emphasis in Health Professions Education (RMU August 2020), a Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) from Rocky Mountain College (August 2010), a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Athletic Training from Brigham Young University (June 2003), board certification as both a PA-C and an ATC. Dr. Baird has 20+ years of healthcare experience. In his early career, he was featured as the first athletic trainer at Dixie High School (St. George, UT). His clinical medical training occurred across Montana and Wyoming. As a PA, he practiced Family Medicine with the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah clinic and Medallus Medical. Currently, he practices with the Volunteer Care Clinic, a service of United Way of Utah (Provo, UT).
