Kelsey Hopkinson

Assistant Professor

Dr. Kelsey Hopkinson was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended Utah State University in Logan, UT and earned her undergraduate degree in Human Movement Science. While at USU, she was a teaching assistant for a medical and environmental ethics course that sparked her love for teaching. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. She initially worked as a travel physical therapist in Boston, Massachusetts before returning to Salt Lake City to work with geriatric patients in acute and subacute settings. Kelsey is a certified geriatric clinical specialist and she also enjoys pelvic floor physical therapy. She began working at RMU as an assistant professor in 2020. In 2023, Kelsey received the Rising Star Teacher Award from RMU. She leads the Cardiovascular and Pulmonary (lovingly referred to as cardiopulm) and Ethics courses in the DPT department. She is the chair for the RMU Utah Women in Higher Education chapter and assists on the Interprofessional Education Committee coordinating learning experiences for students of different healthcare professions. She loves traveling, reading, volunteering, and adventuring with her poodle Penguin.
