Kimberlee Shibinski

Assistant Professor

Dr. Shibinski started her college career as an undergraduate at Eastern Kentucky University with a B. S Physical Education. She received her master’s degree from Indiana University in Physical Education Administration. During that time, she served as a graduate assistant coach for the Indiana University Volleyball program.

Dr. Shibinski began her intercollegiate coaching career in 1982 through 1986 at Texas Woman’s University, in Denton, Texas while serving on various committees at the NCAA Division II level. In 1986, she moved to Columbia, SC, to become the Athletic Director, Head Women’s Volleyball Coach and Instructor in Health and Physical Education. While in South Carolina, 1986-99 she earned an Ed D. in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of South Carolina.

Through her career she has held professoriate positions at Middle Tennessee State University in the Educational Leadership Department and at the College of Mount Saint Joseph (Cincinnati, OH), in the Education Division. With expertise in the areas of effective teaching strategies and educational leadership, Dr. Shibinski’s instruction focuses on learning theories, classroom management and effective coaching/teaching strategies.

Dr. Shibinski has over 30 years of college teacher education experiences She attributes her teaching success to great mentors throughout her lifespan who she has emulated in her own instructional experiences. Dr. Shibinski is well rounded processing a wide-variety of characteristics and traits commonly observed in successful instructors. She believes in showing respect, leading by example, sincerely caring for every student in her classroom, being flexible, teaching with good instructional strategies, having good classroom management skills, and most importantly, being involved, by knowing and understanding her students.
