Kristen Schnurman

MSHS, PA-C

Principal Faculty for Master of Physician Assistant Studies

Assistant Professor

Kristen Schnurman has been a licensed, practicing physician assistant for more than 10 years. She has a clinical background in emergency medicine, cardiology, addiction medicine and hospitalist medicine. She also has a passion for physician assistant education and is currently full-time Physician Assistant faculty at Rocky Mountain University School of Health Professions. Kristen continues clinical practice as a Hospitalist PA with Intermountain Health. In a previous faculty role, Kristen participated in two SAMHSA grant-funded curriculum expansion projects to increase physician assistant knowledge and competency in treating patients with substance use disorders. She is committed to reducing stigma in health care, and to seeing patients as whole persons and not as a sum of their diagnoses. Kristen graduated from the University of Utah with an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree in English and later from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences with a Master of Science in Health Sciences. In her non-professional life, Kristen pursues excellence with a healthy amount of humility afforded by paddleboarding and hot vinyasa yoga, and through raising chickens, vegetables, a very large golden retriever, the sweetest tabby cat known to man and her two “almost grown” sons.
