Dr. Creixell began her career as a pharmacist doing research in drug delivery using nano-therapeutics to target solid and metastatic tumors. Her research focused on surface-surface interactions between circulating agents and body barriers that affect the outcomes of drug therapy.
She received the Ramon Margalef Award for her research from the Board of Trustees of the University of Barcelona. She transitioned to clinical practice serving as an ambulatory care pharmacist with a focus on thrombotic, vascular, and diabetic disease. Dr. Creixell currently serves as an associate director medical science liaison in the medical affairs department of a large pharmaceutical company. In her role, she applies population health approaches to implementation science projects to improve medical adoption of evidence-based medicine.
Her expertise in research, industry, and healthcare systems provides a unique perspective on the continuum of care of patients.
In her spare time, Dr. Creixell enjoys leading a healthy lifestyle, taking road trips with her family in their van, xc skate skiing, and mountain biking. She has yet to determine whether she prefers winter or summer in Utah!
Dr. Creixell is an avid advocate for preventive and evidence-based medicine. She strongly encourages shared decision making between patients and providers, a challenging task that relies on the provider acting as an educator.
