Dr. Vess has practiced in medicine as a PA since 2007. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology in 2004 from Southern Arkansas University. She received her Master’s of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2007 from Harding University. She received her Doctorate in Medical Sciences with focus in psychiatry from Rocky Mountain University in 2021. Dr. Vess also completed her CAQ in psychiatry in 2016. Her clinical experience includes family practice, pediatrics, urgent care, emergency medicine and psychiatry. Early in her psychiatry practice, she maintained hours in the ER and urgent care clinics. Dr. Vess has practiced in psychiatry all but her 3 clinical years in family practice and pediatrics.
Dr. Vess has spent time working in geriatric psychiatry, outpatient private practice psychiatry, treating nursing home patients with psychiatric needs, and in community mental health. Dr. Vess serves on local committees to enrich her community, such as area school’s student health advisory committees. Dr. Vess also precepts PA and NP students for psychiatric rotations. She first became involved as an adjunct faculty professor at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions Summer of 2022.
Dr. Vess continues to practice in psychiatric medicine in rural North East Texas. In her free time, Dr. Vess enjoys dance classes, listening to live music, reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband and 3 children.
