Rhodri Purcell graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Therapeutic Recreation in 1993, after which he served for four years as an intelligence officer in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he attended Idaho State University, graduating with a Master of Physical Therapy degree in 2001. In 2019, Rhodri completed his Doctor of Education degree with an emphasis in Adult Education from Capella University. Rhodri’s experience as a licensed physical therapist has included a variety of settings, including military, acute care, home health, pediatrics, and outpatient orthopedics. He currently maintains his clinical practice in the outpatient orthopedic setting with Intermountain Healthcare at Utah Valley Hospital. Rhodri has been a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy (OCS) since 2005, with successful re-certification in 2015. He has also maintained his certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association since 2006. From 2012-2018, Rhodri was the Director of Clinical Education for Provo College’s PTA program, where he directed the clinical education program and taught courses in orthopedic physical therapy, therapeutic exercise, human anatomy, and pathophysiology. From 2015-2018 he also served as the Associate Program Director for the Provo College PTA program. He is currently serving as an Associate Professor for the entry-level physical therapy program at Rocky Mountain University, teaching courses in patient evaluation and management and kinesiology, and assisting in labs for courses in orthopedic physical therapy.
