I have been teaching Utah K-12 Comprehensive Guidance Curriculum for the past 20 years. For the last four years, I have taught School Counseling classes in the University of Phoenix Master’s program.
I love teaching kids and adults alike. My practical experience as a school counselor at the elementary, middle, and high school levels has given my graduate students the opportunity to learn about the uniqueness of counseling at each grade level. I believe adults construct knowledge from their own experiences, and I am more of a guide on their journey than a “sage on the stage.”
My doctoral thesis was called “Teachers’ perspectives of implementing an advisory curriculum at an urban middle school.” I enjoy research about school change, and how schools reflect culture and society.
