RMU Diversity Scholarship
Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions (RMU) offers $500 diversity scholarships to first-generation college students, members of an underrepresented population, or students that has overcome personal , social and/or physical obstacles to pursue an education. Diversity and inclusion are pivotal to the success of Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions (RMU). RMU commits to being a community which recognizes and values the worth of every person, fosters a welcoming and understanding environment, promotes mutual respect among its members, and encourages individual responsibilities as well as personal rights. In addition to adhering to all federal and state civil rights laws prohibiting discrimination in private institutions of higher education, RMU recognizes inclusion and diversity in all of its forms, including but not limited to:

Who can apply for a diversity scholarship?
Diversity scholarships are reserved for eligible students that are currently enrolled at RMU and meet at least one of the following criteria:
Be a first-generation college student
Be a member of an underrepresented population (religious, racial, ethnic, sexual orientation, gender identity, etc.).
Have overcome personal, social, and/or physical obstacles pursuing an education and/or be from a living environment or academic setting that may have hindered educational pursuits.
How can I apply for a diversity scholarship?
Scholarship applications are available online and can be accessed by clicking here or on the apply button above. As part of the application, you must submit a personal statement describing what it is like being a first-generation college student, a member of an underrepresented population, or how you have overcome personal, social, and/or physical obstacles pursuing an education and/or be from a living environment or academic setting that may have hindered educational pursuits.
What is the application deadline for diversity scholarships?
There are three application cycles throughout the year. Applications are accepted on the first (1st) of July (fall semester), November (winter semester), and March (summer semester), respectively. The deadline for each of these application periods is on the fifteenth (15th) of the months stated above (the scholarship application cycle schedule may also be found on the previous page).
How will I know if I was selected for a diversity scholarship?
Scholarship awardees will be notified within sixty (60) days of the receipt of their completed application. The disbursement of scholarship funds will occur after the add/drop deadline date of each semester. The scholarship may be used to help student defray their tuition and living expenses.
If I have previously received a diversity scholarship, will I automatically receive one next year or do I need to reapply?
No, they are not automatically renewed. If you are interested in continuing to receive a diversity scholarship, you must submit a new application each year that you are eligible. A student is eligible to receive the diversity scholarship only once per calendar year. If a student applies and doesn’t receive a diversity scholarship, they may continue to apply during all three application periods (July, November, and March) until they are awarded a diversity scholarship.
