RMU Opportunity Scholarship
Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions has a $1,000 Opportunity scholarship available to offer individuals a greater opportunity to improve their education and in turn, assist our communities with improved health care.
Who can apply for an Opportunity scholarship through the Financial Aid Office of Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions?
Opportunity scholarships are available for any enrolled and registered student of RMU who is demonstrating academic progress and can communicate what opportunity your education will improve for yourself, your family, and the community.
How can I apply for an Opportunity scholarship?
Scholarship applications are available via Award Spring and can be accessed by clicking on the link above. You will need to submit a general application. As part of the application, you need to also submit a personal statement explaining what opportunity your newly earned education will offer you and the people you will be helping to treat and heal.
Are there admission or grade requirements for Opportunity scholarships?
Students must be admitted to RMU and registered for a full-time class schedule in order to apply (including online or Independent Study courses).
What is the application deadline for Opportunity scholarships?
There will be three periods of time throughout the year that this scholarship application will be accepted. Applications will be accepted on November, March, and July 1st of each year. The deadline for each of these application periods will be the 15th of the month stated on the schedule.
How will I know if I was selected for an Opportunity scholarship?
Scholarship funds will be disbursed, in the form of a check or direct deposit, as per the student’s discretion, after the third week of each corresponding semester. Scholarship awardees will be notified within sixty (60) days of the close of the application period. The scholarship may be used to help student defray their tuition and living expenses.
If I have previously received an Opportunity scholarship, will I automatically receive one next year or do I need to reapply?
No, you will need to reapply each year that you’re eligible. Eligible students can receive one Opportunity scholarship per year. A student, however, can apply during all three of the application periods (March, July, and November) in an attempt to be awarded the scholarship. If a student is awarded a scholarship during a given year then that student must wait and apply until the next year, when they will be eligible again. Scholarships are not automatically renewed from year to year.
