Dr. Susan Lucht has been employed with the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System in Tucson, Arizona, since February 2008 in the role of Clinical Director of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Services and the TBI/Polytrauma Amputation Network Site. In this role, she has the opportunity to lead a diverse staff of rehabilitation therapists and TBI/Polytrauma clinical specialists in supporting veterans to meet their unique and individualized rehabilitation goals with an overall mission of promoting lifelong health and wellness.

Prior to coming to the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System, Dr. Lucht served as a Rehabilitation Planning Specialist in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation National Program Office in VHA Headquarters. Her duties during the seven years she worked at a national level included responsibility for obtaining CARF accreditation for all VA inpatient rehabilitation units, participating in the development and implementation of national clinical practice guidelines for stroke and amputee rehabilitation, and involvement in the development of national policy promoting quality rehabilitation services across VHA.

Outside of her work in the Veterans Health Administration, Dr. Lucht served as the Account Manager for the Medical Rehabilitation Customer Service Unit at CARF, the Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission from 1999 to 2002. In this capacity, she was responsible for the management of the operational components of accreditation of medical rehabilitation programs across the nation.
