James Suel has been a senior financial leader and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for more than 45 years, having a background in growth companies, turn-arounds, start-ups, private equity and Big-Four public accounting, as well as over ten years in a premier Fortune 200 company as a Group CFO for two of that Company’s larger platforms during his tenure. James understands end-to-end processes, operations, treasury, risk management, raising capital, SEC reporting and a wide and deep knowledge of M&A.
James was CFO for Wilson Electronics, Danaher Corporation, Alpha Technologies as well as CFO for start-ups Tracenet Technologies and HZO, Inc. As a Vice President within the Sorenson Capital Partners (“SCP”) Operating Group, James was SCP’s “serial CFO” working with various portfolio companies to integrate acquired business into the portfolio, assist in the sale of portfolio companies and work with all matters of accounting and finance, etc. up and down the portfolio from oil & gas operations to aviation and even president of a memory care operations within the SCP equity portfolio.
James graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a Business Administration and Accounting degree and currently lives in Santa Clara, Utah with his wife Lourdes. James and Lourdes are empty nesters to six grown children and five grandchildren. James was also a national collegiate on-air broadcaster for the American Collegiate Hockey Association (“ACHA”) broadcasting home games for the University of Utah D1 Hockey team as well as broadcasting ACHA national tournaments within the United States. James and Lourdes also enjoy snow skiing, sailing and travel.
